Bruce's Birthday
Well if you can't tell by our make-shift candles Bruce turned 29 last month! Birthdays are getting to be an exciting thing around our house. We had to blow out candles and sing "Happy Birthday" three times before Bruce put a stop to any further atempts. Since Trisha was here Bruce and I had the treat of going on a couple of "mini dates" to celebrate his birthday. We also made cookies which are pictured here :). Niether Bruce nor I are very big cake fans, so I'm always trying to come up with some sort of something to put the candles (or post-it) notes on. Last year it was root beer floats, this year cookies... any ideas for next year?

We have done pies for birthdays at the Merrell home ever since I can remember. Our favorite is peach pie. YUM! It's been a fun tradition and it's much better than cake :)
try doughnuts or icecream cake.
