Happy Halloween!!!

We had a great Halloween! I think most holidays are getting progressively more fun at this age! We had a little party out at Bruce's parents' barn complete with chili, pumkin bread bowls, cornbread, candy corn etc. etc. We also had fun watching the kids eat donughts off a string and Bruce's little sister bob for apples...

We tried for a Wizard of OZ theme... although Bruce doesn't think that Savannah looked anything like a lion.

We decided that Wizard of Oz had monkeys... right? Notice Savannah's hand is in her mouth in every picture. She's not one to be shy about food.

What does the lion say? Rar!

Savannah had this game all figured out... you just rip the donught off the string and then put it in your cup for later. ;)

Hope you all had a great Halloween... we are now even more excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head...

We have been lucky to get a lot of rain lately! Last saturday we had an especially big storm. Most of them have been at night so it was fun for Savannah to go out and play in the rain this time. She hates the thunder but is getting used to it. She LOVEs puddles! P.S. Go Cougars!!

Savannah is always refusing to look at the camera lately... grrr.

Grandma Visit...

We were soooo lucky to have my mom visit last week! She helped us get lots of things taken care of around the house and had some great bonding time with Savannah. Here's a few pictures from her visit...

Of course Grandma had to spoil Savannah with some new toys... here is her cell phone, she also got a baby with a hat, and an alphabet train (bike). I will have to post a picture as she LOVES this new toy and also learned to say "bike" after her grandma got it for her.

Reading stories...

Rootbeer floats... Bruce informed me that this was not her first!

All dressed up for church. She looks so grown up when she lets me do her hair. This time it lasted about 30 minutes. Whenever she rips it out Bruce takes her side and it stays out :(.

Gardner Family Reunion...

At the beginning of August we took a trip to Lake Vallecito just outside of Durango. It was beautiful and a much needed vacation! Thanks to Bruce's mom who arranged everything--- each family got to stay in their own little cabin. The kids were excited to be able to play with their cousins and everyone loved just being in the outdoors and not having to go anywhere or do anything.

We each took a day for activities and I think the biggest hit was the "Gardner Family Olympics." We all participated in various "olympic events." Each person/team got 3 points for winning, 2 points for second place, and three points for third place. It was a lot of fun! Bruce and I won the three legged race and lost horribly (thanks to me) on the egg toss. I did alright at the football kick, but was awful at the frisby toss. Needless to say it was a lot of fun and there was something for everyone. I just have to put out there that Bruce's mom dominated the woman's arm wrestling!! I was her first opponent and it was embarassing!

Here's a few picts from our fun trip...

We went down to the lake one day and Savannah headed straight for the water/mud. She had a lot of fun following her cousins around!

We did lots of front porch sittin'... Savannah loved it!

Double Trouble...

We've been so lucky lately to get to spend more time with our friends the Wilsons. Savannah and Delaney have been especailly lucky to have some play dates. I was even brave enough to sign up for a co-ed softball league with Bruce... luckily Denell and I are splitting the games. So I will play every other week and then get to hang out with these cute munchkins the other weeks! They are too much fun!
Notice they each have a sippy cup and a snack cup. VERY important!

They could almost be twins if Savannah would grow some hair!

This isn't a double stroller... but they sure had fun riding home from the pool together.

This was our drink bucket for Bruce's birthday party. Savannah and Delaney thought it would be fun to stir it up with the brooms?? They are so cute together I'm so glad that Savannah already has a good friend :)

The Phoenix Zoo

On Friday Savannah Keaton and I
Went to the Phoenix Zoo. We had fun despite the heat!! Our favorites were the monkeys, orangutans, lemurs, and of course the splash parks!! I was surprised that I really enjoyed learning about the animals and how they live at the zoo and in the wild. We are excited to go in the winter when the animals will want to come out and play.
